STATEMENT ON SOCIAL JUSTICE & MARXISM
We denounce the false, different gospel (Galatians 1:6-10) being promulgated in Christianity known by such names as: New Calvinism, Neo-Calvinism, and "Young, Restless, Reformed." We see New Calvinism as a danger because it often promotes beliefs like social justice, socialism, communism, Marxism, liberation theology, progressivism (so called), critical race theory, white privilege, white guilt, intersectionality, violence, reparations, idolatry, homosexuality, and antinomianism. These destructive heresies (2 Peter 2) are contrary to Scripture, they undermine the true gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and are contrary to how to how a Christian should act and believe based on the Bible.
Many of the heretical beliefs of New Calvinism are currently being promoted by the teachings of organizations and men like The Gospel Coalition, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Reformed Theological Seminary, Southern Seminary, Together for the Gospel, Timothy Keller, D.A. Carson, Albert Mohler, Russell Moore, J.D. Greear, Danny Akin, Mark Dever, Matt Chandler, David Platt, and several others.
While we at Christ Reformed Church reject New Calvinism, we do hold to traditional Calvinism as defined in places like the 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith.
